The Effects of War on the Women and Families of Ukraine

The effects of war ripple across the world and the Ukraine war is not an isolated one. The invasion of Russia has caused one of the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II and the impacts of the war on the people of Ukraine have been devastating, from millions of people being displaced and homeless to thousands of innocent lives lost. In addition, there has been the loss of jobs, income and homes and those that have stayed to support their country have had little or no access to water, food, electricity, essential supplies and services. The International Rescue Committee has reported that the blockades of Ukrainian grain exports have caused a domino effect, where hunger has worsened to already challenged and vulnerable regions.
