Client: US Prime Contractor

Location: Balad Air Force Base, Iraq

Years: 2024-2025

Service: Visa Services (Administrative and Support Services)

Challenge:

SPGTAS was engaged to deliver visa services and residency permits for foreign personnel working at the Balad Air force Base, north of Baghdad.  There were several challenges:

  • Navigating complex and frequently changing government requirements

  • Managing original documentation across multiple locations, with high personnel turnover and mobility needs

  • Ensuring all processes met mandatory government standards while supporting the onboarding and movement of personnel

Solution

To address the challenges, SPGTAS successfully implemented a range of measures:

  • Delivered comprehensive visa services, including the issuance and activation of 6-month multiple-entry MOI letters

  • Co-ordinated mandatory blood work, and processed KRG 1-year residency cards.

  • Efficient meet-and-greet assistance and original document pick-up and drop-off ensured that personnel could transition smoothly and securely.

  • Proactive government liaison and risk mitigation strategies, enabling the team to navigate regulatory complexities and minimize delays.

And by centralizing document handling and leveraging digital communication, the project reduced unnecessary travel, streamlined operations, and lowered its environmental impact.

Outcome:

  • Successfully completed all visa and residency services with zero mission delays due to documentation issues.

  • Strengthened client confidence and operational readiness.

  • Enhanced local administrative capacity through close coordination with MOI and KRG offices.

  • Lowered the project’s carbon footprint via centralized and digital processes.

  • Supported peace and security by ensuring all personnel were fully documented and compliant, to enable continued coalition anti-terrorist operations.
