Austability Funding Delivers Life-Changing Support to Seven Children of Veterans
Austability’s partnership with Legacy Australia has provided critical funding for seven young individuals, enabling early assessment and support for neurodivergent behaviours.
Earlier this year, Austability donated $50,000 to fund Legacy Australia’s Health and Wellbeing Fund Neurodivergence Stream — a program designed to provide crucial assessment and support for the children of ex-service families.
Among the latest recipients are two siblings whose mother is also managing significant mental health challenges.
At Austability, supporting the wellbeing of our Defence community is important to us. With more than 90% of our workforce being former service men and women, we are proud to champion a program that helps children and their families navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, hyperactivity, school avoidance, and social withdrawal.
This initiative was highlighted at Legacy Australia’s National Advocacy Forum in August 2025.
Austability’s support has also enabled the streamlining of governance for Legacy’s Beneficiary Grants to Clubs program, introducing faster, clearer processes for families seeking help.
With the Commonwealth Health Minister announcing the Thriving Kids Program — set to begin in 2027 for children under eight with mild to moderate autism — Legacy’s neurodivergence initiative is timely.
The assessments funded through the partnership will help identify younger children with ADHD or less severe forms of autism who may be eligible for Thriving Kids support in the years ahead.
Austability is honoured to play a role in a program that directly supports the mental health and wellbeing of the children of those who have served.
We remain proudly committed to this partnership — and were equally proud to be associated with Legacy Australia for the tireless commitment the families who continue to carry the legacy of service.
