Austability recommits to Niger’s security with final Community Engagement

Farewell to Niger Air Base 201 (AB201), the United States Airforce 409TH Air Expeditionary Group, and to the Niger community: thanks for hosting us for 5 years!

As part of Austability’s AB201 Niger Operations Drawdown, Austability Pty Ltd, a wholly owned Australian subsidiary of Austability Group, carried out one final Community Engagement in line with the team’s CSR. With 17% of the population of Niger requiring humanitarian assistance, Austability has taken its role as a supporter of local security seriously, which is why its last engagement also focused on providing relief in the face of ongoing food insecurity.

In the face of rapidly changing threats, Austability has dedicated significant time to building ground-up capacity to better respond to complex problems. Providing a range of operational support services, the team has provided: DFAC operations, provision of skilled and unskilled local labor, roads and grounds maintenance, waste management and provision of DFAC consumables, in collaboration with our allies and partners.

It’s through Community Engagement and by adapting to Niger’s local culture that consensus is built to better respond to the threats of tomorrow. We thank all those in uniform that have committed themselves to fostering peace and security to realize a more stable future for the people of Niger and beyond.
