Overview: 

Austability supported the U.S. Army APS2 Coleman Worksite by leasing and maintaining missionready Material Handling Equipment (MHE) with the objective of ensuring the timely availability of fully operational and compliant MHE to sustain missioncritical logistics. 

The scope included delivery/pickup, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance/repairs, provision of operator manuals and certifications, safety equipment, equipment inspections and acceptance, and prioritybased replacements within 24–72 hours.  

Challenge 

There were three key challenges: 

  • Shortnotice mobilisation (within three days)  

  • Strict compliance and safety: MHE had to meet German (TUV) and European safety requirements  before deployment.  

  • Missioncritical continuity: Logistics operations demanded fast turnaround for repairs/replacements, with 24–72 hour response windows.  

Solution 

The solutions relied on the expertise and capability of our teams: 

  1. Prebuilt mobilisation plan: Developed during solicitation to enable threeday standup, ensuring the team was prepared and missionready.  

  1. Inhouse procurement expertise: Applied subjectmatter expertise and streamlined processes to source, certify, and deliver compliant equipment without disrupting operations.  

  1. Full service delivery: Transport, inspections/acceptance, manuals & certifications, safety equipment, and maintenance (scheduled/unscheduled) were provided endtoend.  

  1. Fleet provision: 13 vehicles supplied to maintain fully missioncapable operations, backed by consistently quick response times.  

Outcome 

Operational continuity: Highquality services delivered under time pressure resulted in uninterrupted operations for the client.  

Quantitative impact: A fleet of 13 MHE units sustained readiness and onsite throughput, supported by rapid response across maintenance and replacements.  

Safety & sustainability: Prioritised electricpowered forklifts, reducing emissions and noise; adhered to EUOSHA standards to promote worker safety and environmental performance.  

Peace & security contribution: Reliable, missionready equipment enhanced APS2 logistical readiness and rapid deployment, reinforcing NATO deterrence and regional stability.
